8:00am-5:00pm plus online material

 

This class is designed for beginner to advanced rifle shooters.  Students can bring their own AR15 or use ours.   We will use high-tech training aids (MantisX10) to analyze technique for rapid improvement.  We will also utilize drop-in lasers and aids that allow trigger reset for indoor training.  Ammunition will be provided for the outdoor portion of the class.

 

We will "zero" (calibrate sights) rifles for students that bring their own.  Students will get to shoot paper targets, steel targets, clay pigeons, and bowling pins.

 

We will cover the following topics:

-Animations of how an AR15 works

-Ammunition

-Firearm safety

-Grip

-Stance

-Posture

-Technique

-Aiming

-Trigger reset

-Basic maintenance (We will break down the rifles, discuss basic maintenance, and reassemble them.  We will not spend hours on this section as this is not an armorer course.)
-Efficient loading, unloading, and reloading
-Multiple shooting positions
-Clearing malfunctions
-Moving while shooting

-Rifle for home defense

-Engaging multiple targets

 

You will need

  • AR-style rifle or carbine (or borrow ours)

  • At least three magazines

  • Eye protection and Ear protection (We have some available if you do not.)

  • Weather appropriate clothing

  • Cap, sunscreen, and insect repellent--depending on weather and season

 

Range location will vary based on availability.  You will receive an email with directions.

 

  • Approximately 8-9 hours

  • Prerequisite:  None

  • Background checks will be done on all registrants.
